April 28, 2026 Law Day Program

Presiding Justice Dianne T. Renwick invites you to the First Department’s Law Day program, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, featuring John D. Feerick.
Dean Feerick will deliver remarks on the power of civil discourse in the history of our democracy — specifically, how respectful dialogue led to compromise and consensus. Dean Feerick, who played a role in crafting the Constitution’s 25th Amendment, will preview his planned book on the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention. Dean Feerick will share insights from his work on the 25th Amendment, a proposed constitutional amendment in the 1960’s to abolish the electoral college system, and his lifelong service to the legal profession and our society.
Following his remarks, Dean Feerick will moderate a discussion with William M. Treanor, Dean Emeritus of Georgetown University Law Center and Fordham Law School, and John Rogan, Senior Fellow at Fordham Law School.
